Cross hire and your margin
Kit you hire in from someone else, what it costs you and what you make on it.
Set an item’s Owner to Cross hire from someone else in the catalogue, with the supplier, What you pay the supplier and a Markup. When you add it to an estimate, its rate is your cost plus the markup, unless the item has a day rate of its own.
A cross hire line is tagged on the estimate, with a Your cost per day box under its description. Change the cost there if the supplier’s price is different for this job.
Under the totals, a private line shows what you are charging for cross hire, what it costs you and your margin. It says Never shown to the client, and it never prints.
TipCross hired kit is not counted in your availability, so it never causes a clash with your own kit.
