Invoices and payments
Taking an advance
Invoicing part of the estimate before the job, and how it comes off the final invoice.
An advance invoice asks for a share of the estimate up front, for example 50% before kit goes out.
- Open the job and click Invoice in the stage bar.
- Click Ask for an advance first . . .
- In Advance, % of the estimate, type the percentage.
- Click Make an advance invoice.
- Check it, then send it as you would any invoice.
To change the percentage, the dates or the note to the client of an advance, open Bank account and what prints on the advance, then click Save these choices. Once the advance exists, the final invoice is made with Make the final invoice.
Until it is paid
- The job shows a warning that the advance is not paid, with the amount still due.
- The Today page lists every unpaid advance, with how many days until the job starts. Its Overdue and Owed to you boxes open the Invoices list.
Good to knowBidWrap reminds you not to release the gear until the advance is paid. It does not stop you.
On the final invoice
Payments count towards the whole job. When you make the final invoice, it lists what has been received and shows the balance still to pay.
