Moving from Blinkbid

Moving from Blinkbid to BidWrap.

I am Rob Durston, an advertising photographer in Belfast who also runs a studio and a rental business. I built BidWrap to keep the bids, the kit, the receipts and the accountant in one place. It can read the files Blinkbid exports, so the jobs you have already done can come with you.

Your Blinkbid history comes with you.

  1. Export your jobs list

In Blinkbid, export the list on the Jobs page as a spreadsheet, and the archived jobs too. Every job, client and contact comes across in one go.

  2. Add the PDFs that matter

Drop in your estimate and invoice PDFs, or a zip of them. Each one is rebuilt line by line, with its totals checked against the PDF.

  3. Match your kit

Old line names are linked to your catalogue, so years of rentals count towards what each piece has earned.

Bidding the way commercial jobs are bid.

Bids under the headings you know

Fees, usage, crew, equipment, studio and expenses, each with its own subtotal, the way a commercial estimate is read.

Usage on the estimate

Write the licence once as a template, then adjust it for each job. It prints with the estimate and the invoice.

Revisions and invoices

Keep every revision of an estimate, then turn the approved one into an advance or a final invoice with the same job number.

Your own rates and kit list

Day rates for fees, crew and kit, with kits made of several pieces, so an estimate is built from your own catalogue.

Also in BidWrap.

Online approval

Clients open the estimate from a link and approve it by typing their name. You see when an estimate or invoice is opened.

Receipts that read themselves

Photograph a receipt and the supplier, date, VAT and total are filled in, then linked to the job and recharged if you choose.

Kit that is tracked

Every piece with its serial number and what you paid, QR labels to scan kit out and back in, and a printable register for your insurer.

Works with your accounting

Keep your books in FreeAgent, Xero or whatever your accountant uses. Connections that send invoices and receipts across are being built now.

Reminders that chase for you

Switch them on and unpaid invoices you emailed from BidWrap are followed up before and after the due date, in your own words.

On any computer or phone

BidWrap runs in your web browser, on a Mac, a PC, an iPad or a phone, and your jobs are saved as you work.

Questions from Blinkbid users

Can I keep using Blinkbid while I try BidWrap?

Yes. The import only reads files you export from Blinkbid, so nothing changes in Blinkbid. You can run both for a few jobs before you switch.

What comes across from Blinkbid?

Your jobs list, with each job’s number, name, client, contact and date, including archived jobs. Then the estimate and invoice PDFs you choose, rebuilt line by line, so your history and totals are there.

Does it work on a Mac?

It works in any up to date web browser, on a Mac, a PC, an iPad or a phone. There is nothing to install.

What happens to my data if I leave?

It is yours. You can download all of it at any time, including after you stop paying.

Is BidWrap connected with Blinkbid?

No. BidWrap is a separate product, made in Belfast. It reads the files Blinkbid exports so you can bring your history with you.

Plans from £12 a month.

BidWrap is free while it is being tested by a small group of photographers and videographers. Ask for an invite and bring your Blinkbid history across.
